A reading of Sam’s Point, written by Sybil Rosen with direction by Marnie Andrews. Set in Summer, 1934 at Sam's Point, the southernmost point of the Shawangunk Mountains.
Twelve-year-old Winslow Countryman is a huckleberry picker at Sam's Point in Ulster County during the Great Depression. His life is turned upside down when a runaway Jewish girl who calls herself "The Empress" introduces him to Shakespeare. In the midst of a summer of drought, fire, mountain spirits, and the longings of first love, Winslow finds himself drawn to the world beyond the mountain.
