2024 FundraisER

We made OVer our $10,000 match resulting in raising over $20,000 for our 2025 Season!

In our 2024 season, the Playhouse has been an increasingly popular entertainment destination for thousands of theatergoers, featuring the theatrical thriller Wait Until Dark and memorable musicals like The Wizard of Oz and Always…Patsy Cline, as well as movies, musical performances and readings. Our annual summer youth programs offer young people unique opportunities to appreciate the magic of music and theater. We are continuously working to expand our programs, from staging diverse performances to hosting workshops, educational events, and special community gatherings. We strive to create opportunities that enable local artists, actors, playwrights, and volunteers to showcase their unique talents on our stage.

All of this requires lots of energy – and money. The Playhouse works hard to keep ticket prices low; many of our programs don’t show a profit. We’ve been fortunate to obtain some government grants, but they don’t cover all our operating expenses. That’s why the Playhouse board is asking for your help and offering to match your contributions to support an ambitious season of new programming in 2025. Composed of all local residents, the board believes passionately in the role of the Playhouse as a cultural hub and sees the value in reaching new audiences, engaging more deeply with the community, and exploring new ways for the theater to contribute to Phoenicia's ongoing renaissance.

The great news is we not only reached our goal of $10,000 – we exceeded it by over $1,000! Your donations triggered the $10,000 match from our very generous donor, who has been a great supporter of the Playhouse for many years. Please know that we couldn't accomplish our goals without our benefactor AND you!

If you missed the opportunity to give in 2022 you still have the opportunity to support us at any time. We are always fundraising – it takes more than our ticket sales to take care of the Playhouse building and produce shows. Look for more fun fundraising events in 2023! We'll keep you posted.
