The Phoenicia Playhouse is thrilled to be the new home of Flying Cat Music, a beloved concert series celebrated throughout the Catskill Mountains for showcasing the finest in Americana, singer-songwriters, bluegrass, and contemporary folk. Building on this rich tradition, the Playhouse will proudly host and produce the Flying Cat Music concert series as part of its seasonal programming.
Just down the block from the Playhouse sits the Phoenicia United Methodist Church, where Flying Cat Music has held concerts for the past five years. The Playhouse—known in earlier years as the Shandaken Theatrical Society—has long served as a cornerstone of the region’s cultural life. Under the guidance of its current Board of Directors, its programming has flourished, featuring an eclectic mix of stage productions, film screenings, literary events, and concerts.
Now, the Playhouse will expand on this creative legacy by welcoming Flying Cat Music into its fold. The same trusted booking team will continue to curate Flying Cat’s exceptional lineup of artists, and many of the dedicated volunteers who helped shape the series remain actively involved. Together, they look forward to welcoming audiences to this exciting new chapter at the Phoenicia Playhouse.
